Pastor Gemedi is a graduate of Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University. He is also a trained chaplain and served at Portland Adventist Medical Center.

Gemedi has been serving as the Pastor of the Oromo Seventh-day Adventist Church of Portland for over 5 years. He is married and has three young children. Gemedi enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with his family.
